Violinist Jeff Wang, a native New Yorker, received his AB from Dartmouth College after 4 years at the Juilliard Pre-College Division. His primary teachers have been Margaret Pardee, Lu Si-Qing, and Anthony Princiotti. Jeff freelances in New York and has had extensive performing experience in chamber music and with orchestras, notably with the Salome Chamber Ensemble, the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, and as a founding member of the Highline Chamber Ensemble. Having served as concertmaster of the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra for 3 years, Jeff was the 2007 Culley Concerto Competition Grand Prize Winner at Dartmouth College. He is currently an MA candidate in Music and Music Education at the Teachers College of Columbia University.
Beyond all things, Jeff is a music advocate and educator. Jeff conducts the Mount Carmel-Holy Rosary School String Ensemble in East Harlem, which has enjoyed past performances with The Roots, Joshua Bell, Ben E. King, CC Peniston, O.A.R., Bernie Williams, Janelle Monae, and Lou Reed. He also serves as strings director for Play On! Studios on the Upper West Side.
